#FridayFandom: Author Interview with Amy McNulty

Today I have Amy McNulty, YA fantasy author of Nobody’s Goddess (Month9Books) & Fall Far From the Tree (Patchwork Press). Amy also writes weekly for Anime News Network. So cool! We’re lucky to speak with her today.

1.      Tell us about your book in 140 characters or less.

Amy: Noll, in love with her best friend, is nobody’s goddess until she uncovers the secrets behind the lord of a village of masked men.
We Read YA: I loved this book! It had me at its opening line:
When I had real friends I was the long-lost queen of the elves.
Read the rest of the prologue on  Wattpad or buy your own copy through Amy’s website with the provider of your choice.

2.      What would be the theme song for your book?
Amy: “Within You” by David Bowie from Jim Henson’sLabyrinth.
We Read YA: Labyrinth! Definitely a great match, both mysterious and dark

3.      Our last “M” post was on Monsters. Who/what is your favorite monster?

Amy: Cookie Monster
We Read YA: “Cookies!” **poor attempt at Cookie Monster voice**

4.      What are you currently writing?

Amy: I’m serializing a dark YA fantasy, Fall Far from the Tree, on Wattpad and will eventually release it as a paperback and e-book through Patchwork Press. I’m also working on revising Nobody’s Lady, the sequel to Nobody’s Goddess, which will be out April 12, 2016. My newest project is a YA suspense about an ace girl with face blindness.
We Read YA: Stop right there. Who doesn’t love a sequel. But Wattpad! It’s the best. What a great place to find samples of YA books. Plus, we get to read all ofFall Far from the Tree as you release the chapters? Woohoo!!

5.      What are you currently reading?

Amy: I just finished Cress and Fairest by Marissa Meyer and am working on The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater. (I will read Winter soon, though!)
We Read YA: Both on my #TBR lists! Great taste.

Thanks for coming out Amy! I was awesome to chat and get to know you. Don’t forget to click on Amy’s links below to get in touch with any questions!
